About Amoxicillin and Clavulanate 500 mg/125 mg Tablets
Amoxicillin-clavulanate combines amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, with clavulanic acid, which stops some bacteria from breaking amoxicillin down. It treats bacterial infections of the sinuses, ears, lungs, skin and urinary tract, including some that plain amoxicillin can’t. It does not work for colds, flu or other viral infections.

How to use
Take exactly as prescribed, usually 1 tablet every 8 or 12 hours, at the start of a meal to reduce stomach upset. Finish the full course even if you feel better. Do not take it if you are allergic to penicillin or have had liver problems with this medicine before.

Possible side effects
- Diarrhea, nausea or vomiting
- Vaginal yeast infection
- Skin rash – get medical help right away for hives, swelling or trouble breathing
